Removing patients who repeatedly do not turn up to appointments

Due to an increase in the number of wasted appointments through patients failing to attend without informing the surgery it has become necessary to implement the following policy:

If you repeatedly fail to attend appointments you may be removed from this practice list.  This will mean that you will have to find an alternative doctor.

Please call us if you need to cancel…

• Ring  01274 612 279.

• Opening Times: 8.00am and 6:00pm weekdays

• Please note: on Thursdays we are closed for training from 1-3pm

• Keep trying even if the phones are busy.   Please keep trying.  Help your community!

• Cancel your appoint online (if you have a username and password) – see buttons on the left.

To help us…

• Please call us as soon as you can to cancel so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.
  

• We suggest at least 3 hours notice, but anytime is better than not calling at all because there will always be a patient desperate for an urgent same day appointment.
  

• You don’t have to ring us – you can log in online to cancel if you have already signed up to this service.
  

• Did you know that you can reschedule appointments online?  It’s easy and you don’t have to wait for us to answer the phone!  See here for more details.

Over a WEEK: the number of patients who do not turn up for their appointment

Over a MONTH: the number of patients who do not turn up for their appointment

Over a YEAR: the number of patients who do not turn up for their appointment

If these patients had cancelled, we could offer another nearly 500 extra appointments per month to other patients who are desperate to see us.    Remember – you can cancel by ringing us or via the web.   And try and give us at least 3 hours cancellation notice.
