To help us…
-
You are more than welcome to speak to your doctor or the nurse for medical advice. Please speak to one of our receptionists who will take your details, your number and request a brief summary of what it is you wish to talk about. If it is an emergency please make this clear to the receptionist.
-
The lines may be busy, in which case please keep trying or call 111 if you are simply after health advice that you feel any health advisor would be able to deal with.
-
For simple and minor ailments like coughs, colds, hayfever, scabies or any medication queries, please think about talking to your local pharmacist – they are very good in these situations.
-
Although we are open until 6pm, please do not leave everything until the last minute. We often get surges of patients ringing at 5.45pm when they could have called earlier (and the doctor was more available). The earlier you call, the better.
If you have been advised that a doctor will ring you back, please note that they will usually try twice to return your call but will cease after that if they cannot get through. Therefore, please be near your phone after you have made your initial request. Also note that the telephone conversation may be recorded.
