The Policy/Protocol

These are the stock messages that we use on the surgery’s telephone system.  These are set by the telephone located in the downstairs kitchen area. Press the call forward button and enter the relevant number. The phone will then state call forward to xxxx.

1) (OOH number for PLT, evenings, weekends & Bank Hols)

Ashcroft surgery is now closed. Our opening times are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm excluding both the bank holidays and Thursday 1pm to 3:30pm. When we are open, you are advised to ring up to make an appointment – even if it is for the same day. However, if you do require a Doctor urgently, please telephone 0845 120 70 66, the number again is 0845 120 70 66. Thank you.

2) (Mobile Number for lunchtimes 11.30 to 1pm)

Ashcroft surgery telephone lines are now closed until 1pm. If you have an emergency and need to speak to a Doctor very urgently please telephone 07913 718467, the number again is 07913 718467. Thank you.

3) (Mobile number then OOH for 0800-0830am)

Ashcroft surgery telephone lines do not open until 08.30am.  If you wish to make an appointment to see a doctor, please ring us after this time. If you have an emergency and need to speak to a Doctor very urgently please telephone 07913 718467, the number again is 07913 718467. Thank you.

NUMBER OF PATIENT CALLS STATEMENT

Although the above requires the patient to make two telephone calls, the OOH number is also displayed in both surgeries patient areas so the patient can record it for future use, hence then only make one telephone call.
